Jeypore College of Pharmacy is a self financed college that was started in the year 2001 located at Jeypore of Odisha. This affiliated college recognized by All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE] & Pharmacy council of India [PCI] provides pharmaceutical education courses. JCP is spread across a 5 acre campus and has a total student strength of 431 and total faculty of 43 members.
The institute offers 6 courses spread over 3 degree levels and offers specialization in different areas of pharmacy education like Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis etc. Jeypore College of Pharmacy acknowledges its responsibility of offering students with the best learning facilities.
As implied, the college provides the following to augment the students’ academic as well as individual developments. The school library currently has a stock of more than seven thousand books and one thousand two hundred titles for reference by students and teachers. Besides, practical skills acquisition, JCP has functional laboratories for each specialization of the faculty of pharmacy.
In terms of technology the college possesses 72 computers of which 25 are connected to LAN and Wi-FI for 10 Mbps bandwidth throughout the campus. Basically, to enhance safety, the facility provided has given separate hostels for both the boys and girls whereby they contain comfortable beds and other necessities.
The college has also got a play ground where sporting activities for different games are carn out to ensure the overall health of students as they study. That is way, Jeypore College of Pharmacy has included various courses in pharmacy to meet the needs of the students who want to pursue different careers. It offers 6 full-time courses in undergraduate as well as postgraduate degrees.
JCP at the undergraduate level has 4+ years B. Pharma course strength of 100 seats and 2 years D. Pharma course strength of 60 seats. For postgraduate courses, the college has several specializations which include M. Pharma each of which takes two years. These are M.
Pharma in Pharmacology with 15 intake capacity, Pharmacognosy with 10 students, Pharmaceutical Analysis and quality assurance with 15 students and Pharmaceutical Technology also with 15 students. Currently, the intake approved for all courses is 215 students per year. The admission procedures at Jeypore College of Pharmacy differs for different courses. For B.
Pharma programme, qualifying in the JEE-Odisha (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination) is mandatory for the candidates. The candidates seeking admission to M. Pharma programmes have to pass in Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT). The D. Pharma programme offers admissions based on merit in their 10+2 Science grades through centralized counselling conducted by the D.
Pharm Selection Committee and direct management controlled admission at college level for the remaining seats.
