Kedar Nath Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya was set up in 1974 and is an affiliated college situated at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Located in the village of Goppur, its main aim is to teach Sanskrit education in order to promote the language. The college is located on a half-acre, and this makes it accommodate only 174 enrolled students in order to maintain a small college atmosphere.
Having a lean faculty strength of 9 members, the college has an optimum student-teacher ratio for effective involvement in Sanskrit education.
Kedar Nath Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya provides many amenities to improve the student experience for the following: The library plays a central role in providing records and information services through a variety of books, magazines, periodicals, and scientific journals from local and foreign sources. It also has a reprographic section to cater for the needs of the students and staff of the school.
In this regard, the college has boys and girls’ hostels on-site to cater for students who need boarding facilities in order to enhance intellectual and moral transformation. This is in addition to information technology infrastructure, an Olympic-size sports complex, a host of laboratories, a full-fledged health centre including first aid services, a gym, and a cafeteria.

Kedar Nath Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya currently runs two principal courses , although they have attempted to establish streams according to levels of Sanskrit learning.
Undergraduate level: it offers a three-year Bachelor of Arts Shastri and postgraduate level: it has two-year Master of Arts Aacharya classes. These are both full-time courses and enable students to be fully absorbed in the prosaic and philosophical cultures of Sanskrit. The college takes a total of 174 students at a time, which affords intimate learning and scholarly discourse on the subject of Sanskrit.
