Kerala Government Polytechnic College, Kozhikode (KGPTC) started in 1946 is one of the premier technical institute situated at Westhill, Kozhikode, Kerala. It is one of the affiliated colleges under the government which is recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which delivers quality education in different branches of engineering.

Captivating the era of more than seven decades, KGPTC plays an excellent role in providing technical education in the region. We have a total student intake of 1181, total Faculties/Staff strength 36 for the college and excellent infrastructure to nurture the young talents who wants to be an engineer.

Currently, KGPTC has six diploma programmes in various areas of engineering to meet different needs of the students who need technical knowledge. This college has all the needed and modern facilities for students’ success and personal development. The institution has a library that encompasses almost all the learning resources students require for their course.

For those who want to have their shaped bodies KGPTC provides the gym and all sports facilities that can provide students with comfortable opportunities to combine the sport and the studying processes. The college’s technology is good and this means that students get to learn the everyday technologies in the college.

Department specific laboratories allow practical student training which is necessary for engineering experience. There is also an auditorium for events and seminars as well so the campus provided an active academic environment. There are dining facilities to accommodate student and staff feeding and the vibrant alumni association for students ensures continuity of students’ connection with the college.

This is an Affiliated College of Directorate of Technical Education, Thiruvananthapuram. At present, the KGPTC provides six full time diploma courses , with each course spread over a period of three years. These programmes include different aspects of engineering field and give the students multiple choices for their future professions.

As regards, admission capacity the college has been approved for 375 intakes in various courses in the college to emphasis on quality education without compromising individual attention. Available diploma programmes include Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering , Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Tool and Die Engineering.

All the courses are supposed to endow students with the necessary theoretical background and practical experience on the future’s industry. The process of admission at Kerala Government Polytechnic College, Kozhikode, is based on strict principles that cover the policy of admission.
