Leelavathi Shetty College of Education, Mangalore Karnataka is a renowned institutions which is involved in the teacher education. This affiliated college, began in 2007, has been preparing future educators for more than ten years. The institute is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to uphold the national standard of the teachers training.
Spanning over a small area of 3 acres, the college tends to provide its students a concentrated atmosphere. Student enrolment currently stands at 56 with faculty of 10 teachers, hence, the institute has low student teacher ratio resulting in effective attention to all individuals in the institute. The college has many amenities meant to improve learning environment and personal development of the learners.
About twelve thousand volumes, forty nationals and international journals, and one thousand four hundred thesis are available in a spacious library. The boys and girls hostels are available in the campus because the institute prefers quality accommodation for students during their course study.

The college also has a well-equipped IT Ministry which meets the needs of the current generation teaching and learning process. To support academic and co curricular activities the college has been equipped with an auditorium, laboratories and transport facilities to different study centers. Leelavathi Shetty College of Education core specialisation is in teacher education therefore it offers a Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) program .
The training of teachers intensive course is a two-year full course which prepares students for proper teaching careers. The college has an approved number of 50 for B. Ed program that show its standard proposition towards quality education with limited number of students in each batch.
Admission procedure of Leelavathi Shetty College of Education has been based on merit list according to the norms set by the State Government, Union Territory Administration and the University to which the college is affiliated to.
