Lisa School of Nursing, Kozhikode

Lisa School of Nursing is a self-financing institution exclusively for providing nursing education in Kerala, India which started in 2002. As a co-educational institution it is set in Thiruvambady, Kozhikode and it is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), therefore complies with quality and training in nursing.

The availability of spacious and comfortable campus made in 2 acres of land with largest playground adds a strategic advantage to provide practical training and learning environment. The total number of students enrolled in Lisa School of Nursing is 51 and full_strength faculty comprises of 6 members and as a result, the institution provides its students with one on one interaction and academic environment.

This institute has been equipped with various facilities in order to compliment the learning process of its students. The campus has different hostels for boys and girls so as to cater for those students who wish to be accommodated. A library is an informative center equipped with appropriate literature required for nursing education courses.

Nursing also has its laboratories in the college, important for practicals pertinent to the nursing education. For the extra curricula activities and events the school has an Auditorium for the students. The dining hall on the campus ensures food menu that addresses issues to do with students and staff’s meal requirements.

For instance, the college has a first aid facility through a health center that complements the health-centered programs offered in the college. For the student’s health and fitness practices, they are allowed to access the sports facilities for workout. Also, there is a guest house or waiting lounge for the faculty visitors and the students’ families which contribute to the general comfort of the institution.

Till today, out of all the courses offered by LSN, there is only one full time course that is available which is the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. This is a three-year course whose aim it to produce competent nurses and mid-wives to enable them serve the society effectively.
