Luqman Unani Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is for the Unani system of medicine based at Bijapur, Karnataka, which was started in 1996. This affiliated college is situated in Bijapur, Karnataka, with the best mix of both conventional and latest techniques in medical science.

Sridhar University is an institute spread over five acres of land and now offers education to 319 students and has 44 faculty members. Luqman Unani Medical College provides 3 degree programmes, the main one of which is Unani medicine, and gives attention to all levels, including undergraduate and postgraduate level education.

The campus consists of two hostels, for boys and girls, respectively; the girls’ hostel can host up to 200 students. A canteen that is run by the college offers health-compelling dishes at a fairly affordable price. The attached hospital, possessing an operation theatre, and the speciality centres, including massage and cupping, provide practical experiences.

The main library has several books and journals, and there are books of different specialisations in the digital library having internet facilities. This is especially true with regard to sports and games, which can be essentially both indoor and outdoor and cultural activities.

Other facilities include fully endowed laboratories, a banquet hall for conducting events and seminars, and a hostel for the guest faculty/officials and the family members. Luqman Unani Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, an affiliated College of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore , provides 3 full-time courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The largest component of the students’ capacity is the Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery ( BUMS ) programme that is basically practiced in Muslim countries. Currently, at postgraduate level, the college offers specialised courses in Moalajat (internal medicine) and Niswan Wa Qabalat (obstetrics and gynaecology) at Neelum Valley University, AJ&K.

Most of the time, the management of Luqman Unani Medical College Hospital and Research Centre follows the merit system in admission. Regarding the admission in the BUMS programme the institute follows NEET and over all merit. The candidates seeking admission to MD Moalajat are required to sit for AIAPGET and have a merit list.

Admission into the roll of MS Niswan Wa Qabalat also occurs under the merit system, more so for those joining under the management quota.
