Mahatma College of Education, Nileshwar (MCE) takes pride in being one of the leading self-financing first grade colleges in the area dedicated to imparting education for future teachers. This is an affiliated college situated in Kasaragod, Kerala, and was founded in the year 2008. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to support the quality standard of the college.

Catered in a 1-acre field, MEC provides an effective learning experience to the education professionals to be. The college presently offers an enrolment of a total of 200 students and is manned by 16 competent educators in its faculty to ensure that the student-teacher ratio is ideal. The library of the college is well stocked with more than 3,200 books and emphasis is laid on books relating to education and allied fields. It also accommodates a large reading room that can house more than fifty students at any one time. In terms of practical learning, MEC has functional laboratories to support the learning needs of the different departments in the institution. The ICT Resource Centre with 15 computer LANs, multimedia software, and other advanced educational tools is also in college. The college currently presents one primary course—the Bachelor of Education ( B. Ed. ) programme. The admission policy of the Mahatma College of Education also follows the policies of NCTE, Kannur University, as well as the Government of Kerala.
