Mahendra Engineering College for women was started in the year 2008 and is located at Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides several engineering courses through a 5-acre campus. With a total student strength of 1139 and faculty strength of 83, MECW offers the correct setting for the education of the aspiring female engineers.
They teach five courses at two levels of degrees and strengthen themselves in the engineering field, including computer science, electronics and communication and information technology. MECW has some of the state-of-the-art facilities to transform the enabling environment for the students.
The college is equipped with modern facilities, including purified drinking water and generator-provided power backup, and has a spacious girls hostel accompanied by common indoor and outdoor games facilities.
Established since 2003, a well-equipped digital library contains more than 20,000 books, over 7000 titles, and approximately 70 national and international journals available for the users to improve their study patterns. There is also a health centre on the campus, buildings for indoor sports and a dining hall serving both veg & non-veg foods.
To ensure adequate linkages, MECW offers a wireless internet connection of Mbps through LAN to all departments. The institute has a wide fleet of programmes in engineering that range from 4 undergraduate courses to 1 postgraduate course. Every programme will be on a full-time basis; the BE/B. Tech programme will be for 4 years and the ME programme for 2 years.
