MASCOM, Manorama School of Communication, was set up in 2002 as a standalone institute in the Kottayam district of Kerala. This journalism-focused co-educational institution provides two postgraduate diplomas in Print and Digital Journalism and Broadcast and Digital Journalism.
The aim of MASCOM with small-scale and specialised education is accompanied by only three competent faculties to cultivate the future journalists. Experience in the field of education of the institute is proved by strict requirements for admission and up-to-date equipment.
Modern facilities that prevail at MASCOM help students gain as many advantages as possible, starting with such important supplies as textbooks and manuals. The institute also has a good library where you can find a large number of books, and the institute also provides newspaper and magazine subscriptions.
Students have the advantage of getting the material from the Malayala Manorama library and online repository if permitted, which makes them retrieve important material pertaining to the research and learning side. Technology resources are also well developed, including dedicated IT computers with broadband connection for each learner.
Print journalism students are trained in the use of common industry tools like Adobe Photoshop and Indesign as well as equipment including scanners, printers, digital cameras and voice recorders, which they use to complete exercises and assignments. Manorama School of Communication provides two postgraduate diploma courses that take a period of 10 months each.

Both programmes costs RS 1,25,000 which indicates the institute’s affordability of quality education at an affordable market price Admission into MASCOM is highly competitive and structured so that only students with raw talent in journalism are admitted throughoutthe institution. The intended students should be academically qualified, political and socially astute enthusiasts with a desire to study journalism.
