Mar Ivanios College of Education, Kunthoor, an affiliated college, was set up in the year 2004 in Perabe, Puttur Taluk, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. This institution which has been accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) offers teacher education programme. The college occupies an area of 10 acres and thus provides a good environment for anyone aspiring for a college teachers.

Mar Ivanios College of Education caters to a small number of students with a total student intake of 75 and has a 7 member faculty. The college has some amenities that would have an added value on the education of the students in the college. At present, Mar Ivanios College of Education, Kunthoor, offers only one fundamental course, the Bachelor of Education programme (B. Ed). It has an approved capacity of one hundred students and takes two years of full-time classes to complete catering the needs of the institution qualified educators. The B.

Ed programme aims at making students be equipped with the relevant knowledge, skills together with practical experience that shall allow a successful teaching profession. However, showing an allegiance to this basic programme, the college demonstrates its commitment to quality on teacher education than diluting the service by offering numerous courses.
