Maria Theresa School of Nursing which is an additional centre of Maria Theresa hospital at Thrissur, Kerala is the special nursing college for providing nursing education. This college is one of the most unique institutions of higher learning since it operates individually and has been educating quality health care professionals for approximately thirty years now since it was started in 1994.

Open at Kuzhikkattussery in the Thrissur District of Kerala, the school follows national standard in nursing education as dictated by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Since it is also a women-only school, there is a specific direction to provide concrete opportunities for the future nurses to develop themselves within this particular sphere.

Maria Theresa School of Nursing has several structures which are intended to support learning activities for the pupils in the school. A reference section is central to the library in order to create a knowledge base; skill development through practical or lab based exercises essential for nursing is done in department based laboratories.

Maria Theresa School of Nursing currently offers one primary course: More specific options which can be mentioned are the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme. This course takes four years and is conducted full time to offer the correct training in both nursing and midwifery.

The school provides simple but specific learning ambience with total student enrolment of 69 and faculty of 9 members to give Individual attention and education quality. In regard to the GNM course, the school provides only 25 seats for students in the course as part of its strategy to deliver quality education with a view to systematically regulating the class sizes.
