Affiliated college established in the year 2013 is Mount Zion Law College situated in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. This is a co-educational institution affiliated to BCI and provides specialised education to students who want to build a career in law. Located in a serene and calm region of Kadammanitta the college affords a proper atmosphere for legal education.
Faculty strength is currently at 12 well-motivated working professionals who are determined to transform legal education in the region through Mount Zion Law College. Mount Zion Law College has a host of common facilities that it has developed in the college to support student learning.
These amenities are anchored strongly by a library capable of catering to the students’ needs as regard to law books, journals, and all other related reference materials. Visakhapatnam: Students have access to Supreme Court cases, All England Law Reports, Kerala Law Times, and Kerala High Court cases as well back volumes of the All India Reporter.
A pride of the college is its modern moot court hall that has modern amenities that give the college an international touch. In this space they call for specific skill development of advocacy in a most natural setting such a court room. For students and staff members who live in the hostels, the institute provides arrangements for boys and girls separately with the help of warden and teachers.
Transport facilites are also available in the college bus facilities are arranged from Pathanamthitta to the college so that the day scholars can move easily. Mount Zion Law College has three full time undergraduate programmes for law each of which are created to tackle different parts of legal education . The college’s total intake capacity is 180 students over all courses offered in the college.
The available programmes are the customary three-year LLB programme plus two integrated five-year programmes which are the BBA-LLB and the B. Com-LLB (Hons. programmes). All these courses have an ACPT of 60 students, so there are sufficient openings for students who want to build a career in law.
There are certain steps that Mount Zion Law College takes for admissions so that the student intake procedure is more merit based and absolutely fair. Of the total number of seats for each course, 30 are available through the Kerala State Entrance Test by Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Kerala.
This regular assessment tests the ability of the candidates in law and also brings neutrality in the selection process. The remaining thirty seats in each of the programmes are as filled by the management keeping in earnest institutional standards of merit.
This system guarantees the college a pool of well qualified students who passed the competitive exams and another set of students who offer other qualitative merits.
