Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) began its journey in 1989 as an engineering college with a visionary commitment to emerge as a distinguished centre of excellence in higher education, built on uncompromising standards of discipline, ethics, and academic rigor. From its inception, NICHE has remained steadfast in its pursuit of quality education, research advancement, and holistic student development.

In recognition of its academic excellence, the institution was ranked the 19th Best Engineering College by Anna University in 2006. Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education was awarded Grade ‘A’ accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council ( NAAC ) in 2015 and was re-accredited by NAAC in 2022.

NICHE Kanyakumari was accorded deemed-to-be-university status in 2008 and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Courses offered by Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education include BE/ BTech , BSc, BASLP , BBA, BCom , BA, BCA, MSc , MCA, MBA , MA, ME/ MTech , and PhD.

The university received National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation in 2007 and was recognised as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) in 2008. Further strengthening its quality standards, the institution also achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.
