Noorul Islam Polytechnic College in Punkarai, was started in 1984 at Thiruvithamcode, Tamil Nadu as an affiliated college. It also runs diploma courses in different faculty of engineering approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. Located on a 13. 96 acres, the college has a total student enrolment of 690 and it has 42 faculty members.

Noorul Islam Polytechnic College offers 6 diploma courses in different fields of engineering to cater the needs of the students. Its goal of providing technical education is reflected by its well built infrastructure and course content relevant to the market. Noorul Islam Polytechnic College has made available a range of amenities that aid the students in their learning process.

These include Civil Engineering , Automobile Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineerin g, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering . The overall intake for all the courses put together is 300 and there are adequate opportunities for all the intended students.

Each of the diploma courses take three years to complete and are intended to offer a broad base of technical education and training.
