Padmasree College of Nursing, Walajabad, is an affiliated college that started functioning in the year 2008 and is situated in Kancheepuram of Tamil Nadu. The institute is affiliated with the Indian Nursing Council and the qualifying courses are offered in nursing. It offers admission to a total of 180 students and has a faculty of 29 teachers and trainers. It is spread over an area of 6. 35 acres of land.

Padmasree College of Nursing offers 8 programmes in two streams & offers a variety of nursing certificates in Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing, Community Health Nursing & Mental Health Nursing. Padmasree College of Nursing has numerous versatile facilities to cater for most of the needs of learners’ academic and overall development.

The library, with a seating capacity of 200, operates from 8: 00 am to 7:00 pm, selling the current issues of books, journals, internet and xerox services. In addition, to offer functional practice, there is a pre-clinical laboratory with skeletons and microscopes for study, as well as a large nutrition laboratory with facilities to prepare meals.

In its carrying out, it has a boy’s hostel and a girl’s hostel that is fully furnished and comes with the services of wardens. Sport enthusiasts can engage in many indoor and outdoor activities with proper amenities for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis among others.

The college also support transport facilities two buses and one mini bus being availed for exclusive use for nursing students clinical and community field trips. Padmasree College of Nursing provides a proportionate set of basic and post basic nursing courses. The major programme is the B. Sc Nursing four year programme with fifty six students intake.

In post graduate level, the college provides various specialisation in M. Sc Nursing with an intake only 3 students for all the specialisations. They include Medical Surgical, Child Health, Obstetrical and Gynaecological , Community, Mental Health , and Community Health nursing. Also, the college has started B.

Sc Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology and Dialysis technology with more emphasis on allied health science courses. Admissions at Padmasree College of Nursing are structured to make sure that only competent aspiring nurses with passion get selected to train in the college’s nursing courses.

As for getting practical experience, college is affiliated to numerous hospitals including Government Head Quarters Hospital, a 450 bedded hospital in Kanchipuram to give students exposures through different departments in the college.
