Parisutham Institute of Technology and Science, Thanjavur (PITS Thanjavur) is an autonomous institution affiliated to the ancillary committee of the Government of Tamilnadu, was formed in the year 2008. This engineering college is established at Thanjavur, Tamilnadu and focusing on providing undergraduate degrees in the different fields. PITS Thanjavur is an AICTE approved Institution and NAAC accredited Institution.
It occupies a fifty acre area with a total enrolment capacity of 657 students and 69 full time faculty members. PITS Thanjavur is accredited to offer 7 courses in one degree focusing Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology. The institute has made it possible to have various facilities that will favor the student.
The campus comprises the basement, ground, and first floors with a separate hostel for boys and girls for out-station students’ accommodation. A modern, facilitating library is important for the students to refer for a number of books as well as other informational resources. All the students who are interested in sports and games are provided with indoor and outdoor sports like modern gym and swimming bath.
The college also has adequately stocked practical teaching facilities such as a language laboratory to enhance student’s communication abilities. The accommodation of the campus community addresses themselves through the campus cafeteria as for the means of food requirement and the campus medical centre which provides the elementary means of health.
IT infrastructure also covers computer labs with updated software packages and computer networks that provide high speed internet to create a knowledge oriented technology friendly ambience. PITS Thanjavur currently has 7 full time undergraduate engineering programs.
These include Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in computer science and engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, Electrical and Electronics engineering, civil engineering mechanical engineering and aeronautical engineering, B. Tech in information technology. The total intake capacity as sanctioned for all the courses is 360 students of which 120 are for Computer Science and Engineering.
