Shri Jagdish Prasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Pharmacy College, Azamgarh (PCA), was established in 1999. The college is situated in Itaura-Chandeshwar, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and functions from a campus that is 3. 25 acres large. It provides programmes in pharmacy and is recognised and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for quality education.
The institution has a total student enrolment of 461, with a faculty strength of 40, thereby maintaining a very favourable student-to-teacher ratio, which helps render personalised attention and foster academic growth. PCA runs 5 courses at 3 different degree levels, focusing on various aspects of pharmaceutical sciences and catering to the diverse needs of aspiring pharmacists and researchers alike.
The institution has quite a few amenities to enhance the learning experience and holistic development of students. The hostel facilities are separate for boys and girls, and the rooms are well provided with furnishings, including a 24-hour power supply with common facilities like an LCD TV and indoor games.
PCA has medical facilities that are all-inclusive; hence, it has tied up with the 300+ bed multi-speciality hospital, Maha Mritunjay Hospital, for the healthcare and wellness of the students. The college library is a storehouse of information containing more than 36,000 books and a good collection of journals, magazines, and digital resources broadly in the field of medical, dental, nursing and paramedical sciences.
If one is sports inclined, then PCA provides facilities for athletics, volleyball, basketball, and indoor games to ensure our students lead a balanced life. Pharmacy College, Azamgarh, offers a variety of pharmacy courses to meet the diversified educational requirements and career aspirations. The institute offers 5 full-time courses under three levels, namely diploma, bachelor's, and master's.
The flagship programme is Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma), whereby it has an intake of 100, and Diploma in Pharmacy ( D. Pharma ) offers 60. At the postgraduate level, the college offers three specialised M. Pharma programmes: Pharmaceutical Chemistry , Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutics , each to have 18 seats.
The programmes are structured in a way that they offer a detailed and skilful approach in all segments of pharmaceutical sciences. However, the institute also conducts a test at the entrance level along with personal interviews for the admission of students to various courses. Admission to M. Pharma courses is done almost in the same framework.
Students should therefore ensure that they check the eligibility criteria of each programme before applying to their most desirable one. Even if the information is scarce on scholarships, the college needs to be providing a range of financial assistance to help deserving students.
