Pillai College of Architecture was established in the year 1992. It is one of the prestigious institutions in New Panvel, Maharashtra. This affiliated college is approved by the Council of Architecture. The institution has a dynamic learning environment and is spread over a sprawling area of 17 acres. Currently, PICA has 399 students studying in the institution, out of which 139 are boys and 235 are girls.
The faculty strength is 40 in number. It imparts quality education through 2 degree programmes in architecture. Of course, the commitment of PICA towards excellence finds expression in its comprehensive curriculum that encompasses undergraduate and postgraduate courses designed for aspiring architects and urban designers. There are two courses available here in the PICA. This institute offers a 5-year full-time B. Arch course with an intake capacity of 80 students. The college also offers a 2-year full-time M. Arch in Urban Design with 20 seats for students desiring advanced specialisation. The two programmes basically aim to provide students with wide knowledge and skills for working in the sphere of architecture and urban planning.
Practice can be observed through well-equipped workshops where one can experiment with a variety of materials and scales for the development of skills in model making. Arch, the candidate should obtain at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test in Architecture ( NATA ) conducted by Council of Architecture. The Joint Entrance Examination scores are also accepted for admission in the course of B. Arch. The admissions for M. Arch Urban Design are taken through the MHT CET.
