PSN College of Education is a self-financing co-educational teacher training institution for men and women situated in Melathediyoor in Palayamkottai Taluk of Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, started in 2007. This South Indian co–co-educational institute is located across an area of 10. 3 acres and is an Affiliated College recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE).
PSN College of Education currently has a student strength of 281 and employs 27 faculty members. The college offers 2 programmes in the field of education. The college has a student-teacher ratio, thus providing quality education to its unique courses in B. Ed. and M. Ed.
PSN College of Education — Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), It has a variety of accommodations to accommodate its academic setting, as well as to supplement students’ experience. A modern information centre in the form of a library is a crucial resource centre for students and juniors. There are also extravagant laboratories on the campus to support hands-on experiences.
To achieve physical fitness and recreation, PSN College of Education has sports grounds and a gym. An auditorium is used for many occasions and seminars, thus making the campus more active. It also caters for students' general welfare through the provision of a health centre equipped with first aid facilities.
There is an information technology infrastructure to enhance learning and a cafeteria for the nutritional needs of the college populace. Accommodation is, however, provided for both male and female students in well-provided separate hostels, providing a good living and learning atmosphere. To date, PSN College of Education has two Full-Time courses offered in the field of education. The B.
Ed programme has a total of one hundred seats, and the M. Ed programme has fifty seats. Accepted students are expected to complete each of the programmes in two years; these programmes offer a strong foundation for future educators.
The admission policy and the procedures of PSN College of Education are as follows: Prospective students seeking admission in the college are admitted on merit as prescribed by the state government/UT administration and the affiliated university. For B. Ed programmes, the admission is conducted according to the merit of the qualifying examination and the entrance test. Likewise, the M.
Ed programme’s admission criteria include he sense of performance in the qualifying examination, entrance test or any other selection process as per the existing norms.
