Rahat College of Education, Madhupur

Rahat College of Education, Madhupur, was founded in 2013 and it is a co-educational college for future teachers of the future. Affiliated with the Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, this campus situated in Barbad, Madhupur, Deoghar, Jharkhand and is under the approval of National council for teacher education (NCTE).

The college is small in size and occupies a total area 1 acre and provides directed learning ambience for its students. The total number of students in the college is one hundred and total number of faculties and staff members is sixteen and therefore, Rahat College of Education provides individual attention and the best education in teacher training programmes.

Rahat College of Education has a number of amenities that are aimed at supporting learners in their course work as well as development. A modern equipped library is one of the most important sources for the work of students and professors. The campus comprises teaching practices, innovative laboratories essential for the practical application of education techniques.

There are gym and sport facilities for physical fitness and recreation within the vicinity of the campus for the studentsconcerned. It is fully aware of students’ need and will cater for their needs through a health centre which provides first aid services.

Rahat College of Education offers one primary course, the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) programme. This two year programme is a full time course which aims at producing professional teachers.

Approved for an intake capacity of 100 students, the B. Ed programme offered at Rahat College of Education offers sound theoretical knowledge in addition to practical experience. It aims at providing quality education to its students in this area of specialisation aiming at preparing graduates to tackle complexities of modern education systems.

Admissions to Rahat College of Education are possible upon passing an examination conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) and conforming to the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Admissions for the prospective students are directly based on merit list generated by JCECEB only.

The college also follows the rules of reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD and special categories as per the government rules of central as well as state government. This promotes a good selection of students to be accorded an equal chance through a nondiscriminatory admission policy.
