Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute, Kullu

Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute, Kullu (RTTI) was set up in the year 1999 as a private B. Ed college with the aim of refining future teachers. This institute is situated at Kullu – the paradise on earth and is approved by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Currently, RTTI provides three regular courses in teacher education that were recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Spread over an area of 1 acre, Diaz has a total of 226 students and 4 faculties in total. RTTI’s goal of providing quality education is reflected in the academic programmes offered, such as B. Ed, B. P. Ed, and D. El. Ed to rejuvenate the teachers at under graduate and diploma level. Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute is proud to present students with a good learning environment and modern finishing’s.

RTTI also has a library with collections of over 4,000 books, references, journals etc and has a seating space for more than 50 students. The IT development is exquisite, with a computer laboratory comprising of twenty five interconnected systems that are internet connected as well as fully fitted with learning necessary software’s.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, RTTI provides practical experience in laboratories meeting the norms of NCTE and H. P. University. The institute also focuses on student’s affairs and services that they provide include medical room for emergencies, Auditorium with a sitting capacity of 100 for functions and celebrations, cafeteria with sitting capacity of 50 students.

For fun and recreation, the common hall houses carrom, chess, and a table tennis board Besides, for those who would like to engage in body building, there is a gym within the institution compound. Among the three full-time courses that are provided by RTTI, all of them are undergraduate programmes. The institute is able to recruit 200 students enroled in one programme or across different programmes.

The largest programme in the RTTI’s portfolio is the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) programme which offers one hundred student seats. The Bachelor of Physical Education B. P. Ed is having 50 seats as well as the Diploma in Elementary Education D. El. Ed .

These are intended to prepare the students for teaching profession basic knowledge and skills required to take them to the market as qualified professional teachers in two academic years of four semesters. Students are admitted at Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute through the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test conducted by the Institute. In regard to the B.

Ed programme, the admissions are established through merit or any other method prescribed by the State Government, UT Administration or the University. The selection criteria in the B. P. Ed programme involves, a written test, sports proficiency test, physical fitness test and marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Likewise, for admissions to D. El.

Ed course, the marks obtained or percentage of marks scored in the qualifying examination or entrance test conducted by the State Government/UT Administration will form the basis of merit.
