RK College of Education, Samba

RK College of Education Samba was established in 2001 and is situated at Vijaypur Samba, Jammu& Kashmir Govt, India. It is a co-educational college affiliated to the University aims at producing future educators. In order to produce quality teachers, the college provides the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) intakes 150 students per year.

The institution has a faculty base of 10 highly professionalised members of faculty, who are able to dedicate their time to the 23 total student registration. Located in Samba town, the aforementioned college nurtures the skills of those interested in teaching job and help them to attain revitalizing careers in the said profession.

RK College of Education boasts of a number of improved facilities for learning out of personalised teaching facilities. The computer laboratory is well equipped with hardware and software and internet; thus the students are updated with the advancements in educational technology.

It also functions as a holistic learning resource hub, including numerous books and other resources which may be either borrowed or accessed digitally. Reprographic services are also available to students, as well as a book bank facility.

In this regard, for physical fitness, the college has intended and arranged some exercise-related activities concerning sports events such as badminton, chess matches, races, kabaddi, shot put, and volleyball. This means that the campus cafeteria offers good and healthy meals and snacks that meet the students as they attend their classes.

With a view to implement the concept of Education for All and pursuit of excellence in teachers education, RK College of Education at Samba is running a two-year full-time B. Ed programme , which is the flagship programme. This general course is also aimed at preparing students for a teaching profession by providing them with appropriate know-how.

The programme is spread over four semesters and the topics taught includes…and lectures, … methodology lessons, school training, field experience and reflective writing. This college offer a good number of intakes approved with only 150 seats for students who have interest in this teaching field. JK counseling is followed in RK College of Education for the admission into B.

Ed programme of the college in collaboration with Jammu University. The university has two different merit lists for home and foreign students in order to maintain a competitive fairness. After the seat has been assigned, learners enroll at the university to embark on the process of coming up as qualified teachers.

The extent of practical coverage of various college courses under the college programme is an evident indication of the commitment of delivering quality education by the college.
