Salafiyya Arabic College, Meppayur

Salafiyya Arabic College, Meppayur was established in 1974 it is an affiliated college situated in Kozhikode, Kerala. Located on 40 acres of land it provides the type of education with special accent on Arabic and Islamic culture. The college currently enrols 86 scholars and has a faculty of 8 a situation that creates a compact learning ambience.

At present the college offers only one degree programme, the BA Afzal Ul Ulama whereby the college is allowed to admit 40 fresh students in a particular year, meaning that the college is specialised in teaching Arabic and Islamic education. For the purpose of improving the students’ experience in college, Salafiyya Arabic College has provided the following facilities.

Course male and female students can make arrangement to get their hostel close or within the compound of the campus. These hostels have kitchen gardens so that they have to depend on other people and can have the feel of the homes.

There are four important social utility building in the campus two masjids and a moral service wing is given most importance to all the students so that the students are get well mannered and understand about the society.

For academic perusal related activities, there is a library hall although it is notable that the college is in the process of making a multiplicity of expansions in order to increase the(volume of) available books especially Quranic interpretation, Arabic literature, and Islamic studies. It also has sports facilities an event and seminar hall departmental Laboratories and modern It facilities for various activities.

Salafiyya Arabic College currently offers one full-time course: BA Afzal Ul Ulama. The approved student capacity of this programme is 40 students per intake, in order to support the college belief of focusing on delivering personalised teaching in class.

Although the actual figures on the graduates cannot be obtained the current total student enrollment of the college is 86 which indicates the students’ continuum in the programme.

The BA Afzal Ul Ulama course is specifically formulated to give a wider understanding of Arabic language and literature along with Islamic studies in order to cater the students to ['-] a wide variety of occupations in the field of academia, religious institutions, and cultural organisations.

The admission policy of Salafiyya Arabic College Meppayur is in line with the university of Calicut and the Government of Kerala policies.
