Sara Nursing College, Tirupur

Sara Nursing College was started in the year 1995 in Tirupur of Tamil Nadu and it is one of the recognised institutions in nursing. The INC approved co-educational, affiliated college offers specialised nursing course in its lush green twenty acres of campus.

The college is earning a reputation to have student intake of 182 and a faculty of 43, this simple ratio helps in establishing the college to maintan focused educational environment for students pursuing nursing careers. The college currently offers two full-time programmes , B. Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), in order to meet the needs of student who wants to acquire knowledge nursing education.

A rich list of modern facilities that have been established at the Sara Nursing College to address the needs of the students’ academic and personal development. These include fundamentals of nursing lab, Pre-clinical lab, Community health nursing lab while other specialty labs are Anatomy, Microbiology, Nutrition and Maternity & Child Health Nursing.

The college has an excellent library accommodation filled with books by different authors and national/international journals. It also supplies Xerox and internet facilities to support needed research and study. The college has a planned multispecialty hospital soon where students get practical training and students get exposure to the pediatric and psychiatric hospital affiliations with the college.

At present, there is only a total of two courses offered in Sara Nursing College and both the options are the full time ones. The number of intakes for programmes have been approved as follows: 50 students for B. Sc Nursing and 20 for GNM course . Each of them takes four years and covers theoretical and practical information required for an effective nursing job.

From the enrolment aspect, the college remains committed to quality education whereby all the 182 seats offered have been occupied. The admission process at Sara Nursing College is aimed at choosing capable and hard working students for nursing programmes. The college may give priority to the candidates based on the marks obtained by them in the academics in 10+2 with science set up particularly Biology.

In particular, the candidates may have to write standard entrance examinations or sit for certain interviews before joining the programme.
