The School of Insurance Studies, located within the National Law University in Jodhpur, is the only institution training for insurance education in India. SIS-NLU aims at training and developing the qualified workforce for the emerging insurance industry in the country.
Therefore, the SIS-NLU admission process is extremely competitive and merit-based, to choose the most talented among the candidates for its specialised programmes. The primary focus of SIS-NLU is MBA Insurance, a two-year full-time programme, which seeks to cater to the specialised needs of the rapidly growing insurance industry.
The limited intake of forty students in the corresponding academic year ensures that each student obtains maximum attention from the faculty during study sessions. The SIS-NLU admission process is based on the performance of the applicants in national-level entrance examinations approved by the institute.
The management scores from three major entrance examinations, namely, Common Admission Test (CAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT), and Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), will be considered. The exams will be conducted once every year, and the aspiring candidates will also be required to meet the score requirements fixed by the institute for seeking admission.
SIS-NLU Application Process The application procedure for SIS-NLU's MBA Insurance course is multi-faceted: Entrance exam: The first step is for the candidates to take one of the prescribed entrance exams (CAT, MAT, or CMAT). These exams are mostly conducted once a year: CAT in November, MAT in many sessions across the year, and CMAT in January.
Application: After securing required scores in the entrance test, candidates would apply directly to SIS-NLU. Applications would generally open after declarations of results for these entrance tests. Application Form: Candidates are expected to fill out the application form, which is probably available online on the official website of the institute.
The form seeks personal information, academic history, and details about the entrance examinations. Document Submission: Along with the application form, candidates are expected to send the necessary documents. Application Fees: An application fee might be required. Details on the amount and payment mode should also be available on the institute's website/application form.
Selection Process: The institute shall shortlist candidates based on their entrance examination score and submitted application. Admission cannot be guaranteed on merely satisfying the minimum score given the programme is competitive and intake is limited.
