The Sharmila College of Nursing Chennai, was started in the year 1992, is one of the pioneer colleges situated in Chennai which offers Nursing Education. This co-educational college is in Pallikaranai, Chennai, and is an affiliated college under the INC of India. The college strives in offering quality healthcare education, and for this reason, it has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B. Sc. Nursing).

The institute has a total intake capacity of 49 students and 38 members in faculty, so that every student gets individual attention for shaping up the excellent nurses. With all these challenges, the college is determined to ensure that it provides the best environment for learning to it students. They include common user facilities that support education and development needs for both body and spirit.

The campus boast of having different hostels for boys and girls for out station students to ensure that they comfortable as they attend their classes or any other thing they need. Knowledge resource centre in form of a well stocked library and information technology resources that facilitate the various teaching instruments.

The college also remains indebted to laboratory facilities that are important in skills practices in nursing as a field. For all round development, there are sporting amenities, and there is provision for diet through a canteen. First aid services in health center within the compound are available in case of emergencies or during accidents.

An auditorium is used for occasions such as events and seminars to enhance the student activities in a campus. Sharmila College of Nursing offers the B. Sc. Nursing course to provide all round nursing education to the students. It is a 4-year full course program which offers substantial study knowledge and professional competence needed for a nurses career.

It has a fixed carrying capacity and an approved intake of 50 students for the nursing course hence many chances are made available for students. As it is now, the college has only one degree program but it provides students comprehensive training on different areas as nursing to prepare them for the complexities of the health profession.

Sharmila College of Nursing follows certain process to admit deserving and competent students for its B. Sc. Nursing Course. Perhaps the college does consider standardized tests in relevant academic subjects and/or exam, test, interview that it conducts. As a college accredited by the incidence of nursing, Sharmila College of Nursing follows the national guidelines on admission to nursing.
