Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Udupi

SMVITM was founded in 2010 and is an independent engineering college in Udupi, Karnataka. Being an affiliated college, located across 70 acres of land, the college is providing students a spectrum of undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. SMVITM has got the approval of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The institute has an enrolment of 1280 students and is staffed by 88 faculty members, thus the institute has an ideal student teacher ratio. SMVITM has a programme portfolio of 7 programmes over 2 types of degrees, majoring in engineering and management. The institute has equipped with most of the necessary equipment to foster students’ academic and other aspects of development.

The campus boasts of affording adequate laboratory facilities necessary for practical training in different fields of engineering. Central library for the campus occupies three floors, where there is a collection of more than 28 000 reference and text books, e-books and periodicals. Students can view the e-journals and have advantage of the VTU EDUSAT programme in the e-learning room.

For the needs of those residing away from home, SMVITM offers basic hostel accommodation for both male and female students so as to afford adequate time to study. SMVITM has a total of seven programmes that include six B Tech programmes and one MBA programme .

All undergraduate engineering courses are full-time courses which take four calendar years to complete, while the MBA in Business Analytics is a two-year full-time programme. The total student enrolment capacity of the institute in terms of courses offered is 1,125. The new majors in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning , and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science each have a total capacity of 60 students.

Undergraduate programmes accept KCET or COMEDK UGET for engineering students. The institute also provides a management seat to the students, it implies that students can directly contact the college and appear for an entrance examination conducted by the college. It also accepts scores from KCET which stands for Karnataka Common Entrance Test. The college give out scholarships to deserving students.
