Shri Mati Chandrawal Gupta Mahila Shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya, Abu Road

Shri Mati Chandrawal Gupta Mahila Shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya, at Abu Road is a Women’s Teacher Training College which was set up in the year 2006. Affiliated to Prof. Gopi Nath Vidyapeeth, Sirohi Rajasthan it is approved by National Council for Teacher Education NCTE. The institute is situated over an area of 1. 08 acres and today it has 341 students in its strength.

The college has a faculty consisting of 10 members It is currently running 2 full–time course programmes in only 2 degrees qualifying the college for ONLYTC while specialising in teacher education. The institute will have a dedicated focus on female students, helping create skilled educators in this region for women’s education.

Among the facilities that enhance learning environment in the college are Some of such facilities in the college include. Equipped learning library play an indispensable role in enhancing forms, which may be useful for budding teachers. Sports are embraced through provision of various facilities including the fields that are present in the campus.

As per the requirement of the contemporary higher education, the college has developed fine Information Technology system. Departmental laboratories provide ‘real-feel’ kind of learning environment which is very essential for practical lessons of a teacher. For faculty members, college accommodation includes a girls’ hostel for outstation students, a conducive environment to live in.

Yet, there is a cafeteria where students and staff are provided with specific diets meeting their requirements; there is a guest/ waiting room to welcome the visiting faculty and relative members of the campus people, making the campus well comforted. Thus, in the context of the available and emerging educational needs in society, SMCGMSPM provides two major courses in teacher education. The B.

Ed is a two years full time course which has been given approval to admitted 200 students. Further, the college offer Diploma in Elementary Education D. El. Ed a two-year full time course with a strength of 50 students. These categories of programmes are meant to prepare individuals with the ability and knowledge required in their future careers teaching.

There are one hundred and eighty five students in accredited courses and one hundred and fifty six in other courses making the total student enrolment three hundred and forty one which points to the institute’s contribution in teacher training in the region.

Unlike the other criteria of selection, the candidate’s admission to this institute of Shri Mati Chandrawal Gupta Mahila Shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya is based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. In admission policy the college strictly follows the order of the State Government of Rajasthan and the affiliated university. Incase of the B.
