Shri Mishri Lal Sanwal Government PG Girls College, Jaisalmer, established in 1998, is an affiliated and recognised constituent teaching college for imparting higher education to the female students of Rajasthan. Sited along Dadansar Road, this institution occupies a campus of 30 acres, making the environment serene for learning.

Currently, the college has 374 students and has 6 faculty members for the postgraduate college. Out of its 33 courses offered across 4 degree programmes, the college offers various courses under Arts, Commerce, & Sciences streams to fulfil students’ educational dreams. The college is affiliated with Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts (B. A. , M. A.

), Commerce (B. Com), and Science (B. Sc. ) streams. The college supports learning by ensuring that it provides basic learning facilities for its students. It plays an important role by providing readily available information that enables students in their studies. Departmental laboratories that are equipped with instruments useful for practical sessions are especially helpful, especially to science students.

It also values physical health and provides an opportunity to use sports facilities in order for students to lead a healthy lifestyle. Further, the institution has a highly developed, sophisticated information technology structure, implying the recognition of modern technologies, critical to the comprehension of the modern world.

It is currently providing 7 full-time courses , out of which it has both UG and PG courses for the girls. The undergraduate courses are BA , B. Com, and B. Sc. Biogroup, and B. Sc. Maths Group , & the undergraduate courses are MA in Political Science, Hindi Sahitya, & Sociology.

The total student intake of the college is 374, including all the courses; however, each programme has also been provided with limited seats. For example, there are 80 seats for both the BA as well as B. Com. , and for the B. Sc. Biogroup and B. Sc. Maths Group, the seats are 35 each.

The admission criteria in Shri Mishri Lal Sanwal Government PG Girls College are purely on the basis of merit in all the courses offered. Candidates are given an assessment of their performance that they received in the qualifying examinations for admission to the institution. It is in this strategy that it is possible to open the door to allow deserving students to participate in their courses of choice.
