SJM Dental College and Hospital, Chitradurga, set up in 1986, is one of the well-known dental education centres in Karnataka, India. This is a coeducational college affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences has been in the education sector, especially in dentistry and health services.

Recognised by NAAC and approved by DCI, SJMDCH continues to provide and has a vast area of 5 acres to deliver excellent educational experience in the field of dentistry. To achieve its goals, the college has a capacity of 270 total students enrolled and 97 faculty members who prepare an adequate learning atmosphere for key dental specialists.

SJMDCH offers two dental programmes , the graduate qualification of BDS and the Postgraduate degree of MDS in Conservative Dentistry SJM Dental College and Hospital, Chitradurga, Karnataka, established in 1986, is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI), offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in dentistry with quality education and clinical training.

SJM Dental College and Hospital has provided many diverse facilities that are fitting for a college of the modern generation. It is accommodation the campus has a boys' and girls' hostel to accommodate out-station students comfortably. Knowledge resources are provided in the form of a well-equipped library, while the other resource of IT helps in another form of learning.

The college also cares about students’ health; there is a Hospital on the college compound where students receive first aid. To support the total development of the learners, SJMDCH has equipped the hospital with sporting facilities and a gymnasium. It is occasionally used to convey different informative sessions and seminars, adding significant academic life to the college.

There is a provision of a cafeteria for preparing food to meet the needs of the students and the staff, while transport facilities are provided to enhance easy transport. The college also has a guest house for the visiting faculty and students’ family members, living up to its name of being hospitable. The curriculum offered by SJM Dental College and Hospital is divided into two specialised dental courses.

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme is a direct entry five-year full-time programme offered to 60 students. For those interested in postgraduate specialisation, the college offers admission to the two-seat Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course in Conservative Dentistry , which is a ithree-yearrs full-time programme. These two courses aim to give the students ample knowledge and skills needed in dentistry.

The total completion of full-credited students enrolled in all courses is 62 students, the figures pointing to the fact that it is important for the college to keep the student enrolment per faculty ratio in the college optimised and within reasonable limits to provide personalised quality and effective learning to all new students joining the college.
