SMBT Dental College and Hospital and Post Graduate Research Centre, Sangamner, were established in the year 2001. It is a premier institution for dental education in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The college is affiliated with MUHS Nashik . This college is affiliated with and has been approved by DCI, offering various programmes in dental education both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The institute is spread over a vast 8. 21-acre campus with a total student enrolment of 494 and a faculty strength of 227. SMBT Dental College aims at developing all dimensions of students' learning through its state-of-the-art facilities. The college has separate boys' and girls' hostels for a safe and secure boarding experience. The boys' hostel has 50 well-furnished rooms, whereas the girls' hostel has 114.
The college provides an adequate library in a 5000 sq. ft. area for academic pursuits. It consists of a collection of 4504 textbooks and 6124 journals from India and abroad. SMBT Dental College offers a good deal of 9 dental programmes : one undergraduate ( BDS ) and eight postgraduate courses (MDS) in different specialisations. All programmes are full-time, and the BDS course is for 5 years; on the other hand, MDS courses take 3 years to complete. The admission process is based on the national-level entrance examinations held at SMBT Dental College.
For the BDS course, admission will be done based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET-UG ). The admissions to the postgraduate programmes for MDS courses are conducted based on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for MDS, popularly known as NEET MDS .
