SN Training College, Perumbavoor

SN Training College, launched in 2005 at Perumbavoor, is an affiliated college situated at Okkal PO, Perumbavoor, District Ernakulam, Kerala. This is a teacher education institution which has been accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education-NCTE. Located in a limited area measuring 5. 23 acre, it is a college at present which is admitting 50 students in total and employees 11 faculty members.

SN Training College currently has one Undergraduate programme; the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) with an approved capacity of one hundred student intake which shows the college’s niche as a teacher training institution. SN Training College has structured various accommodation facilities with aims of improving students learning atmosphere.

Central to these is the library with adequate book collection of approximately 4900 books of different categories available for issues to the users. It also offers internet services where current magazines, educational journals, newspapers and other resources are updated now and then to benefit the students as well as the teachers.

For the growth and development of language the college has provided a language laboratory. Also, there is a large photocopied computer base with internet access hence provide students with updated information technology. SN Training College provides only one full time course and it is the Bachelor of Education Better known as the B. Ed programme.

It is established as a two-year programme that will provide preparation to the students for teaching professions and the institute started with an intake of one hundred approved seats. Course structure is wise, since college taking into account preparation of effective educator that combines academic knowledge with elements of pedagogy.

Graduation data as a whole is still not ascertainable but the focused college mandate and approach implies a commitment to keep high standards of preparing teachers.
