Spandan College of Education, Bankura

Spandan College of Education, Bankura was established in the session 2016 as a Co-Educational Institution to mould the future citizens of aspiring teachers. This affiliated college in the scenic village of Katul occupies within a very short period of its journey a niche in the field of teacher education. The institution is approved by the National Council of Teacher Education, New Delhi.

The total student enrollment for Spandan College of Education is 400 and faculty strength is 36. The facilities available in the college are limitless, all put in place to foster learning and general development of a student. At the center of academic facilities is a well-stocked library, availing students with abundant educational materials and a good studying and research environment.

The sports facilities and gym ensure that those who like to keep fit physically can do so, as it fosters a healthiac balance between the mind and body. The institution has excellent IT infrastructure to help students keep up with changing technological advancement in education. A health center with first-aid facilities is also available to meet immediate medical requirements.

The college also has an auditorium for events and seminars, thereby promoting a lively culture in the campus. Spandan College of Education has two courses of teacher education programs. Both the B. Ed and D. El. Ed are full-time courses; each will run for a period of two years. The total student intake of the college is 400, out of which 100 seats are allocated for each course in one academic year. This balanced distribution definitely ensures due care and quality education among all enrolled students.

The College may also consider any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government or UT administration and the affiliated University. Admission to the D. El. Ed course is also based on merit, counted in view of the marks at the qualifying examination and/or result of entrance test.
