Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital, Coimbatore

SRDCH was set up in 2000 as a famous dental teaching college in Coimbatore Tamil Nadu. Recognised by NAAC, SRDCH being approved by DCI and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R. Medical University. The college occupies 5 acre land and it provides 6 courses in 2 degree. SRDCH has 502 students strength and 222 faculty members, which added up to the Student-Faculty Ratio of the college.

The institute also has students from different background by having 93% of the students were undergraduate while 7% were postgraduate students Besides, the gender competency ratio the institute has is 81% females and 19% males. SRDCH has well equipped quality state of art infrastructural facilities to offer comfortable learning atmosphere to its students.

Accommodation: The college has a separate hostel for boys and girls with comfortable and ventilated rooms, medical facility and security services throughout the night. The students’ central library is approx 9100 sq ft with special provision for 250 students to sit and read and the collection comprises of over 4,500 books on different dental specialties.

In scholastic activities, SRDCH has modern It resources and an event and seminar hall within the college. There is also sports facilities, gym, and canteen to meet the students’ leisure and eating abilities. Moreover the college has transport facilities for students and staff to make some easy way for transport in and out of the college.

As for curriculum, SRDCH offers a complete dental curriculum through 6 programs or majors. The BDS shatters the foundation for undergraduate education as the college offers 100 seats for the program. Postgraduate level, the college provides five degree courses Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) that takes three years.

They include: Master of Dental Surgery in prosthodontics and crown and bridge ; Periodontology; Oral and maxillofacial Surgery; Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and; Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics . The total intake for the postgraduate courses has been approved as 13 only. All programmes offered at SRDCH are full time which would allow a one thousand percent concentrated dental education.

For the bachelor’s degree courses, candidates must have passed NEET, while candidates who seek admission to master’s degree courses must have passed NEET MDS . Candidates concurrently apply for the college and 98% of the student’s origin is from Tamil Nadu and 2% from other states.
