Sri Taralbaloo Jagadguru Institute of Technology (STJIT), Haveri-one of the many popular engineering institutes in Karnataka, was founded in 1980. The admission process at STJIT is quite elaborate and aims at the selection of duly deserving candidates for various undergraduate engineering programs.

The transparent merit-based admission system is dependent primarily on a score secured by the candidates at state or national-level examinations.
