This co-educational affiliated college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and is spread over 2. 7 acres, offering various programs in the Pharmaceutical field.
Having a total student enrolment of 456 and a faculty strength of 28, SVIPS assures a concentrated learning environment for the aspiring pharmacists. The institute offers 4 courses across 2 degrees, specializing in different aspects of pharmaceutical sciences. It provides individual boys' and girls' hostels, accommodating 500 students to ensure a comfortable living environment conducive to learning. It has a cemented basketball court, volley ball court, shuttle badminton court, cricket ground, athletic field, and well-equipped gymnasium for sports lovers. The indoor games provided are table tennis, caroms, and chess.
The library of this college is one of the strong points of the institution, subscribing to more than 5,600 volumes and 25 scientific national and international journals, including Chemical Abstract. Upgradation with fresh books and journals on a regular basis helps in keeping the library updated and complete. Pharma is a full-time course for 4 years with an approved intake of 100 seats. At the PG level, the institute offers three specialisations under M. Pharma, namely Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutics. All of these programs are full-time; however, M. Pharma courses are 2 years.
The admission process in SVIPS is meritorious and governed by the rules of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates have to qualify AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) for B. Pharma admissions. For M. Pharma, GPAT or AP PGECET scores are valid for admission.
The institute follows the merit list obtained from these entrance examinations, considering reservation policies for various categories of applicants.
