St. Aloysius Institute of Education, Mangalore came into existence in the year 2006, which is one of the well known teacher education establishments situated in Mangalore – the coastal city of Karnataka. This affiliated college, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE), is for nurturing teachers.

Established in 1966, the institute is located at Light House Hill Road, Kodialbail on a small plot of 0. 53 acre, and provides an environment conducive to learning teaching to the student community interested in the teaching field. This course enables a student to qualify as a full time teacher after two years of intensive training to equip competent teachers. Since the student teacher ratio must be controlled for efficiency, the institute has an approved admission capacity of fifty for this programme.
