St Ann's College of Nursing, Tuticorin

St. Ann’s College of Nursing, Tuticorin was started in 2010, affiliated with Tamil Nadu, India. It is women-only college which is affiliated with INC which makes it one of the best colleges of nursing in India. The college offers two full-time nursing programs: Two of them are B. Sc Nursing and the general nursing and midwifery course (GNM) for a total of ninety students per year.

Located just behind Tuticorin old bus stand, the college is attached to the Sacred Heart Hospital and students are exposed to some clinical practicals. The college has various facilities that are in place to improve the functioning of the students.

The library which is a Wi-Fi enabled unit has seating capacity of about 150 readers and there are more than 6,000 books on various subjects to cater with latest publications stocked every time. On the practical aspect, the college provided efficient laboratories with updated medical instruments and teaching materials to enable the students to gain proper nursing skill in teaching hospitals.

The classrooms retain the classic look and feel of the heritage buildings, with the teak furniture joined by ceiling mounted LCD projectors & Roll down screens. St. Ann's College of Nursing offers two primary nursing courses : The two courses that are offered in the college are: B. Sc in Nursing that takes four years and has fifty seats, and GNM that also takes four years and has forty seats.

They are both regular and on-campus courses of study which aim at offering full nursing training. The college aims at producing patient, skilled, educated and experienced nursing personnel with both theory and practical aspect. On the list is the admission criteria for St. Ann’s College of Nursing which is based on merit, especially to the B. Sc Nursing course.

The programme is exclusively merit based that means, the seats are offered to the deserving candidates rely on the percentage they secure in the qualifying test. This way, the college is trying to overcome gender practices with the help of women’s education in nursing as well as empowering the women to take up such a noble profession. Ann’s College of Nursing. Girls’ hostel accommodates well furnished four sharing beds room with power backup and study amenities. There are sport facilities within the college compound so that students can engage in sporting activities right from college. The functioning on site Sacred Heart Hospital, a 250-beds general hospital, functions as a training hospital and also to cater the health needs of Tuticorin.
