Susruta School of Medical and Paramedical Sciences, Silchar, was established in 2010 as a constituent college of Assam University. This co-educational institution is located at Silchar, Assam, focusing on education and research in the pharmaceutical context. Since this is an approval by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the students graduating from it will be at the standard national level of pharmacy education.

The institute offers programmes in pharmacy at a bachelor's, master's, and even doctoral level. Susruta School of Medical and Paramedical Sciences offers three degree courses under it, with a total of four courses . All these courses are full-time in nature.

This reflects the approach of the institute towards whole-time-devoted education in pharmacy. The base course offered by the institute is the Bachelor of Pharmacy, which has an approved intake capacity of 50 students. At the postgraduate level, the school offers two courses in M. Pharma: Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry . Each of them has an approved intake capacity of 8 students.
