Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) at Cuttack, Odisha, is a premier institute offering courses in rehabilitation training and research. SVNIRTAR conducts its admission cycle mostly in sync with the academic year, which starts in most cases during the months of August or September.
For the undergraduate courses, a Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted jointly by the institute with the National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata. This CET is held on an annual basis for the selection of candidates to the courses: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT), and Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO).
For the postgraduate programmes-Master's in Physiotherapy (MPT), Master's in Occupational Therapy (MOT), and Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MPO)-the SVNIRTAR organises the All-India Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET), which is held under the chairmanship of the Director, SVNIRTAR.
Minimum eligibility criteria for SVNIRTAR admission to the undergraduate courses usually require the candidates to have passed the 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subject papers. This criterion for postgraduate courses requires candidates to have qualified for the concerned bachelor's degree in the relevant field.
They might have different eligibility criteria for each of the programmes, so the candidates are advised to visit the official website for more details.
