Symbiosis School of Economics Pune was established in the year 2008 and is a part of Symbiosis International University . The college is accredited by NAAC with grade A. The college is also recognised by the UGC. The institute provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and postgraduate diploma courses. These courses are provided in the field of Economics .

Admissions to these programmes are done according to the SSE Pune admission process which is different for different courses. The mission and vision of the college is to provide quality education and evolve as a major research centre with the help of applied economic analysis. The institute has eminent faculties, and they help towards the growth of the institute.

The college conducts both internal and external assessments and encourages students to participate in various extracurricular activities with the help of its 11 active clubs. SSE Pune also has many collaborations. The institute provides ample facilities like library, girls hostel, boys hostel, auditorium, IT infrastructure, wifi, cafeteria, sports, alumni association, etc.

The college has a placement cell, which looks after the placement process. Several companies recruit candidates from SSE Pune. The scholarships are provided to meritorious students and disadvantaged groups.

SSE Pune has bagged the first position at Ramjas College, Delhi University for the business case study competition ‘ Excelsior 21’.

The club participates in various fests both in campus and out campus, where they decorate and paint the entire event.

DebSoc - DebSoc provides a platform, where students can put their opinions. The club conducts parliamentary debates both British style and Asian style. The speakers are encouraged to use logical reasoning and persuasion more than knowledge so that first timers can also participate. Streetlights - This is a drama club and helps in enhancing all kinds of skills required.

Symbiosis School of Economics Pune scholarships are awarded to meritorious students, girl students,students belonging to minority community, and students from North Eastern region. Central scholarship scheme is also available for the students in Symbiosis School of Economics Pune. The eligibility criteria is different for different scholarships. Students have to obtain minimum qualifying marks for some scholarships, whereas for other scholarships, annual family income upto Rs 8 lakhs in addition to minimum qualifying marks is required. As per the SSE scholarship criteria, students are awarded scholarships from 50% fee concession to 100% fee concession.
