The Oxford College of Hotel Management was started in the year 1994 and is situated in Bangalore in Karnataka state. This affiliated college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education & renders specialised education in hospitality and tourism management. The college is compact, occupying a 2-acre piece of land and designed to offer programmes to the 81 students it is currently nurturing.
The institute has 5 dedicated faculty members to teach postgraduates; another advantage is the small student-teacher ratio, which assures quality education and individual attention. Degree courses offered at Oxford College of Hotel Management include two full-time programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students, which are in the presence of a vivid development of hospitality management education.
The college has a number of state-of-the-art facilities that are deemed to improve the learning process and development of students. The modern, equipped library is a centre of accumulated knowledge. The library provides students and teachers with a great number of educational books, journals, and other references regarding hotel management and tourism administration.
Regarding hands-on practice, the institute has equipped modern facilities that evidently resemble typical performances of the hospitality industry. The college also provided different hostels accommodating the different sexes of the students so that they may be comfortably accommodated within the college.
A large sports compound and a functional hall are used for the overall improvement of students; a functional, modernised IT infrastructure helps them stay up to date with technological trends in the field. At The Oxford College of Hotel Management, students can choose from two specialised courses , which include the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) as well as the Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM).
The BHM programme is a four-year full-time course that has an approved intake of 60 students and offers academic learning and practical knowledge of all functional areas of hotels and hospitality management. The MTTM is a full-time postgraduate programme of two years’ duration that deals with principles of tourism and travel management.
Both courses aim at preparing students to have knowledge and skills to fit in the competitively changing hospitality and tourism industries. Degree Name Total Number of Seats BHM 60 MTTM - The process of admission at The Oxford College of Hotel Management is rigorous in a way to enrol the best candidates in their programmes.
For the BHM course, anyone who wishes to join the course is subjected to taking an admission test and then sit for a group discussion before facing an interview. Unfortunately, this has made the evaluation process very thorough, which assures the institutions to admit only those candidates interested in the hospitality industry.
The firm, moreover, has a beginning and strong alumni base to buttress its claims that the college turns out professionals who are ready to be deployed straight into the workplace. This is particularly true when the occasion of the annual alumni meet provides old contacts to be reawakened, new friends to be made, and opportunities for other students in terms of employment are created.
Though detailed information about the scholarship offered to this college is not provided, the college provides effective training with a theoretical and practical interface, industrial exposure, and quality education that intends the students to become successful professionals in the fields of hospitality and tourism.
