Open full gallery →The Palakkad Cooperative Arts and Science College, established in the year 1986, is a well-known college in Palakkad, Kerala. This affiliated college was established more than three decades ago and currently provides a multitude of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Located at Olavakkode Post, Palakkad, the college helps students from different areas of the region to approach the college easily.
Information on campus size and total enrolment is still lacking, but the college has established its credibility in arts and science disciplines. The college comprises the following features aimed at improving the learning experiences of the students: A well-equipped library is an information centre containing many thousand books for use by undergraduate and postgraduate students.
There is a qualified librarian in the library to help learners with their research assignments in two different shifts. This is purposely to ensure that the students have easy access to books and other important stationery, which are sold in the college store. On the compound there is a canteen that provides food and beverages from time to time, especially to those who travel long distances.
The college boasts competitive sports facilities and has produced sportsmen who have represented the college in the district in sporting activities like football, cricket, and kabaddi. An annual sports meet is organised for the selection and development of young athletic talents.
The college also has a computer laboratory for computer courses to be conducted by qualified instructors to produce students with adequate computer handling skills, with 25 functional computers available in the college. The Palakkad Cooperative Arts & Science College has a total of 16 courses from 8 degree programmes that suit the versatile field of education.
