Trinity College of Education, Visakhapatnam, was started in the year 2012; it is an affiliated college located in Andhra Pradesh state of India. 12 acres, Trinity College of Education is functioning with a total enrolment of 143 students and a faculty of 17. The college offers three programmes in education for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Since it is a co-educational institution, it admits students of both sexes, encouraging equity among students who intend to become teachers one day.
Trinity College of Education possesses a variety of facilities that may help the academic process and serve to build the college atmosphere. The research library, having a 2005 sq. ft. area, has a rich collection of 7860 books of different titles (5500), text books (4000), reference books (3800), and twenty journals.
The library offers seating space for 100 students at a time, enough to create a research and study atmosphere. Sports amenities are provided to the students to carry out some physical activities and exercise. The college also has an auditorium to help it host events and seminars, which makes the college environment lively.
Departments also provide functional laboratories for practical exercises and a health centre with first aid service for students. Other facilities include a gym, IT infrastructure, a canteen, a guest house, and comfortable classrooms. Trinity College of Education has a total of three courses for full-time learning in the area of education. Among these are Bachelor of Education (B. Ed. ), Master of Education (M. Ed.
), and Diploma in Education (D. Ed. ) education programmes. The B. Ed. programme which is the flagship course, has been approved with an enrolment capacity of 100 students, sufficient opening for all those who desire to become teachers. Every programme can be accomplished within two years, and during this time, students have great opportunities to investigate educational theories and immersive practices.
Regarding admission, the college has its own criteria, i. e. , a merit-based admission policy supported by the state government guidelines, the University of Teaching (UT) administration, and the university to which the college is affiliated. For the B. Ed. programme, there is merit-based admission, which is the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance test.
The same procedure is followed for M. Ed programme where merit is understood through the scores scored in the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any mode of selection as defined by the rule and regulation bodies.
