Tungal School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Jamkhandi (TSBAS) is one of the young institutions in Karnataka; it was established in 2016. This year an affiliated co-educational college is established in Jamkhandi, Karnataka, with the purpose of imparting quality education in Basic and Applied Sciences. Set on merely 0.
64 acres, TSBAS has expanded bit by bit to enrol a total headcount of 190 students with the support of a team of 17 faculty members. The institute provides a wide list of undergraduate courses with special emphasis on honours degrees in science-related fields. Tungal School of Basic and Applied Sciences has a vision of creating an enabling environment for its students.
The college has several infrastructures that have a view of improving the academic achievement of the students. Every good group learning centre has a stock library that should be a focal point for the students and their instructors. It has departmental laboratories which facilitate practised or experiential learning as well as application of theory in practice.
For a balanced development of students, this institute has provisioned various games and sports facilities by providing infrastructure for the sports hostel, etc. This one is also situated on campus to hold different occasions, debates, seminars, and cultural activities.
The college also cares for the health of students through the provision of first aid equipment in instances that a student will require medical attention. New, equipped classrooms are the final component of the infrastructure, thus offering the best conditions for learning. As regards the programmes of study, TSBAS offers 8 courses in two degree programmes.
All given courses are available full-time, which is regarded by the institute as one of the modes of comprehensible learning. The college focuses on B. Sc. programmes offering honour degrees in Zoology , Physics, Mathematics & Computer Science, Chemistry and Botany and BCA.
These concentrated programmes are developed to equip the students with distinct academic and professional focus in their selected areas of interest to meet the requirements for postgraduate studies or to pursue professional careers in the scientific world.
