Valliammai Polytechnic College, Kanchipuram

It is recognised technical college located at Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu was started in the year of 1984 and named as Valliammai Polytechnic College. This affiliated college approved under AICTE offers various diploma courses in the different stream of engineering. As per total enrolment 660 students per year and faculty members 51, this college offers technical education with suitable atmosphere.

There are six full time diploma courses that are spread over three years and provided specialisation in engineering to lead the students towards a brilliant professional life. Valliammai Polytechnic College has numerous structures that are unique and can improve the learning environment through various aspects of the student’s character.

As a centre of learning, the library contains books, journals and periodicals for reference and contains an open access system. For the convenience of students with disabilities, there are separate self-contained hostels for boys and girls. Currently, the college has a fleet of buses to transport day scholars from different areas in and around Chennai as well as Kanjeepuram districts.

Other facilities are a cafeteria, bank/ ATM and a health care centre with first aid services. Facilities for sports and games, such as cricket ground, volley ball court, indoor games and outdoor games, are well maintained to enable the Physical Education Department encourage healthy lifestyles. There are six diploma courses in Valliammai Polytechnic College and all the courses offered are on full time basis.

The courses offered span the entire spectrum of engineering disciplines and range from Mechanical Engineering , Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering and Automobile Engineering. The intake per course for all programmes is 60 which in total gives the programme an overall student intake of 360.
