Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute of Medical Science and Research, or VCSGGMS & RI, was founded in the year 2008 in Srinagar, Uttarakhand. This is a fairly well-known medical hub that offers various medical programs as an affiliated college under the approval of the National Medical Commission. The institute has a total student enrolment of 747 with a faculty strength of 72.
VCSGGMS & RI has contributed towards excellence in medical education by offering 26 courses under 4 degree programs in varied specializations of medicine. It has a state-of-the-art library spread over three floors, comprising more than 8,400 books related to various subjects of Medicine. MBBS is the principal course with an approved enrolled of 175 seats. MD and MS courses are also offered with different specializations in subjects like Anatomy, Pathology, Community Medicine, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine. Also, diploma courses in specialties like Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and ENT are available.
