Vidarbha Youth Welfare Society's Institute of Pharmacy and Research was established in the year 2017 at Amravati, Maharashtra, and is one of the major pharmacy education institutes. It is a co-educational college spread over 3 acres of land and is an affiliated college of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
The total enrolment in the college is 234 students, and the faculty strength is 20; the institute offers five specialised pharmacy programmes. The institute also provides quality education through modern facilities and covers pharmaceutical education as a whole. A central library, having all sorts of digital resources, has large collections of books, magazines, and journals under one roof. Facilities provided for the practical nature of pharmacy education include well-equipped laboratories with hands-on knowledge obtained by students. The institute provides good IT infrastructure and thereby promotes modern ways of teaching.
To develop the overall growth, the campus offers sports facilities to encourage the students to participate in extracurricular activities. It has a cafeteria and a health centre, where first aid facilities are available, and well-furnished classrooms with modern conveniences to make learning a comfortable experience.
The Training and Placement Cell is active in placing the students and in maintaining industry links through an active alumni association. The Institute of Pharmacy and Research offers five full-time courses in pharmacy education. The institute offers the D. Pharma programme which is a 2-year course, and the B. Pharma programme which is a 4-year course.
Both programmes have an enrolment capacity approved of 60 students each, making the total number of seats in both programmes 120. The programmes are therefore structured to provide the complete range of knowledge and skills set in pharmaceutical sciences towards successful careers in the ever-changing field of pharmacy.
