VISSJ Government Polytechnic in located of New Town in Bhadravathi was established in 1950 is a well known technical college in the Karnataka. This affiliated college is government owned and set by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Currently located in a 5. 39 acre land, CI provides four diploma programmes specialising in various fields of engineering.

Having an enrolment capacity of total students 743 and faculty members 16, VISSJ Government Polytechnic offering excellent technical knowledge. The institute is purely providing Full time Diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering etc. , to fulfil the needs of various technicians/engineers.

VISSJ Government Polytechnic has developed several facilities to facilitate the learning of students who are enroled in the institute. It plays the role of a central information point to provide a backbone for learning activities. The campus provides hostels for males and female separately to encourage safety and support of the students.
