Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu

Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology was started in 2013 and is situated in Gurha, Brahmana, Akhnoor Road, Jammu. This affiliated college, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides various Engineering courses in its wide open area of 5 acres. YCET has a total enrolment of 883 students and has 19 faculty members.

The college offers four BE programmes whose main aim is to provide the latest information and skills to the students in their respective fields. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with the University of Jammu . YCET has all the necessary resources attainable for any academic work it may wish to undertake.

At present, the college owns laboratories containing current instruments and application software, so the students have practical training in their specialisations. Sports enthusiasts can access spacious football, cricket and volleyball fields and badminton and basketball courts. For the fitness enthusiasts, there is a well-stocked gymnasium for those who love exercising to keep their bodies fit.

The college library provides a variety of resources to assist the college students in their educational endeavours. Both male and female students are free to secure comfortable Hostel facilities within the school precincts that provide a conducive atmosphere for learning and development. The institute provides four B. E. full-time courses. The total duration of these courses is 4 years.

Such programmes encompass BE in Civil Engineerin g, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering , and Mechanical Engineering. The total intake of approved strength for all the courses is 330 seats, which offers a big chance for students to become engineers.

At YCET the admission to the various professional courses is offered on the basis of the result of the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE), which is a statutory body formed by the Jammu and Kashmir State Government.

This helps to avoid, on one hand, cases where some candidates are favoured by the interviewer, or on thotherhe, ha, to give preference to candidates who have connections and can offer to help the interviewer get a good position in return.

Steady membership of the college is limited and recognised by the BoPEE list of selected candidates, which adds the institution to other reputable colleges in terms of academic integrity.
